It is with pleasure that we announce to our school community the the application for resource consent to improve school facilities and increase the student roll capacity at St Mary's Catholic School has been granted

Following a lengthy process which involved much consultation with our neighbouring property owners and extensive work to ensure aspects such as traffic management and site alterations meet with general favour, the Catholic Diocese of Hamilton has been granted consent to develop our current school site.

Initially site development had provision for a 32 space car park in the North Western corner of the current school site but in working with neighbours, traffic management group and the Tauranga City Council it has been agreed that traffic can be managed through better utilization of on street resources.

As a school we will benefit from a net gain of four additional teaching spaces built to modern learning environment standards.  Presently we are in the early stages of providing spaces for an extra 90 students.

This will continue our ability to offer additional places to those families and children seeking the benefits of Catholic Education in Tauranga.
